Getting psyched for the season? Here is something else to be excited about: A list of some of the best deals ski resorts are offering for the winter ahead.

If you are skiing with children, Squaw Valley USA may be your best bet: Children age 12 and younger ski for only $10 every day. And, active members of the military ski free during the season (some blackout dates apply). www.squaw.com

Ski at Mt. Rose on Tuesdays and get two lift tickets for the price of one! On non-holiday Wednesdays, $35 lift tickets are available for students with a valid ID and guests ages 50 and up. On non-holiday Thursdays, ladies ski for just $35. www.skirose.com

Active members of the military with a valid ID ski for free at Alpine Meadows throughout the season. www.skialpine.com

Children ages 4 and younger ski for free at Heavenly Mountain Resort all season long. Those who are planning to ski 6 or more days may want to consider purchasing the unrestricted Epic Pass, which is also valid at resorts like Beaver Creek and Vail. www.skiheavenly.com

Sick of waiting in lines? Purchase a Fast Pass for $20 in addition to your lift ticket or season pass at Northstar-at-Tahoe and you’ll get access to the priority Fast Pass lane. For more deals, turn in your one-day lift ticket before 12:30 p.m. and you’ll get a partial credit for your next day’s lift ticket.

Starting January 4th, celebrate your birthday at Homewood Mountain Resort and ski for free! Also, passholders from other mountains (anywhere!) can present their season pass for a $25 Homewood lift ticket, starting January 7th. www.skihomewood.com
